Transitional Independent Living
In accordance with our child protection policies, all youth are informed of the right to their information. For youth who may decide to share their information, social media and release of information consent forms are signed. Youth may withdraw their consent at any time. This could affect the display of information on this page.
TIL (Transitional Independent living) is the last phase of the transitioning into independence program. Our young adults receive continued case management, supportive services, life skills training, and mentorship on issues related to emerging into adulthood. In this phase, young adults will obtain their Bachelors degree or a skilled trade to help ensure their success in providing a living for themselves. An (ISTLP) Individual supportive transitional living plan is created to help steer a young person into their independence.
In transitional independent living we give more autonomy to our young adults. Youth are expected to sign and follow a contract of agreed rules and expectations. As part of the TIL contract in order to be eligible for TIL services a youth must either be enrolled into post secondary education, work full time or a combination of both equaling 30 hours per week. The focus of TIL is to build self. sufficiency.

- obtaining driver license(if applicable)

I AM FOSTERCHILD understands that the transition to independence is going to look different in different societies. Every society has their own beliefs, values and customs that shape their culture. It is the responsibility of I AM FOSTERCHILD to understand the culture and society we operate in. Despite many cultural difference there will always be core things that are transferable no matter where our young adults reside and that is character! I AM FOSTERCHID focuses on building youth interpersonal skills, education and providing opportunity. We achieve this by providing educational sponsorship, mentorship on issues related to transitioning into adulthood and our core values.
