What is a Foster Child?

What is a Orphan?

When working with at-risk children in undeveloped countries the idea of a foster child is not the same as in developed societies. These children may not have the same support systems in place such as access to education, healthcare, mentorship, and life skills development. Instead, they may be living in orphanages or with community members who may not have the resources to provide proper care. Many of these community members are licensed to be foster parents due to the lack of government systems to oversee these social issues.. This can leave these children vulnerable and in need of additional support to thrive and succeed in life.

Being A Foster Child or Orphan is a global issue. This problem  does not only exist in America. Many countries do not have child welfare system in place to address these social issues, often leaving thousands of children neglected from their basic needs.

People in Africa live in homes and have the same amentiies as we do in the U.S.  The only difference is the measure of poverty, infrastructure and political strucutre.
