TRANSITIONING INTO INDEPENDENCE

Supervised Independent living

SIL (supervised independent living) is the 1st phase of the transitioning into independence program. Young adults receive case management, supportive services, life skills development, and their high school diploma

Transitional independent living

TIL (Transitional Independent living) is the last phase of the transitioning into independence program. Our young adults receive continued case management, supportive services, life skills training, and mentorship on issues related to emerging into adulthood. In this phase, young adults will obtain their Bachelors degree or a skilled trade. An (ISTLP) Individual supportive transitional living plan is created to help steer a young person into their independence.

"Everything that is fair is not always equal"

"When I was kid in residential custody, my group director used to always say to me "Dlo everything that is fair is not always equal"

Other children have both parents in their lives who take care of them, they may not provide the same things as I do for the children in IAMFC but its fair because they have a parental figure and a group of staff who loves them, it's just not equal in terms of whats provided.
